February’s student athlete is senior, Anthony Xiong.  He is part of the Sheboygan Falls Wrestling team.  Anthony is a very talented wrestler who has been competing all 4 years of his high school career.  Xiong is one of the captains of the team because he shows leadership for his teammates.  Xiong is a very busy student helping out his family by driving his younger brothers and sisters around to school.  He also helps out in the culinary classes, having a big role in their volunteer opportunities at the craft fair, yet he also finds time in his day for the wrestling team.  He finds ways to make himself a better wrestler. He takes time out his day to improve his wrestling moves.  Anthony has been having a really good season and he might have a chance of going to state.  Anthony stats are 8 and 8, only having one pin.  He could be going to regionals and  sectionals and then to State, if Anthony wrestles well  and wins most of the matches at the meets.  Brad Knecht, Sheboygan Falls Varsity Wrestling coach, said that Anthony Xiong has a good chance on going to state.  Knecht also says he [Xiong] is a talented athlete that has the ability to be an amazing wrestler.  “He [Xiong] expects people to follow the example that is already set for them,” Knecht said.  Although Xiong had gotten out at the regionals match, the senior had a successful final season.
