Freeform has released a new T.V series called Siren, which takes place in a small town called Bristial Cove. Legend has it that Bristial Cove was once home to mermaids, but men pushed them off the land. Now, this Coastal town has a new girl around named Ryn, who is flipping the town upside down. Ryn catches the eye of a Marine Biologist named Ben, after he finds her alone on the road in the show’s Pilot episode. When he starts to show an interest in Ryn his girlfriend Maddie and a fellow Marine Biologist becomes suspicious. However, they’re not the only ones in town who want to find out the truth about what’s in the water, and what the government is hiding. Helen, the town eccentric, has taken a very weird interest into Ryn and knows more than what’s she’s letting on to Ben. The battle between man and these creatures takes a very dangerous turn as these predators are trying to seek their vengeance, meanwhile Ryn is only their to find her captured sister, and to find some more food, which their people have been lacking. Ryn does not want to harm anyone because Ben and Maddie have showed Ryn that humans can be trusted by helping Ryn search for her taken sister and helping Ryn find another source of food.

I love this show because it’s so different than other shows on Freeform. I find it very interesting because a lot of people believe in mythical creatures and enjoy seeing a TV show based on the actually Greek Mythology. Siren is based partially off of the Greek legend, and is very accurate to what the Greek had thought of them to be like. Siren is a new TV show that just came out this year, has pretty good ratings (4.9/10 from facebook and a 7.2/10 from IMDb), and has already been renewed for a second season!
